There will be the 1st Saturday demonstration at Prospect and Marketview on June 5 from 2 p.m. til 4 p.m. This is the weekend of march in D.C. called by International Answer. Emphasis is on Palestine. Discussion about another time/place/method of street work for more fun, effectiveness. Ricky B. reports experience from Buffalo that you can use privately owned town square space until challenged. Downtown Champaign has lots of foot traffic. Susan Davis suggests flyering the Art Theatre when "Supersize" shows on the weekend of June 11. Emanuel wants to work on a basic AWARE leaflet. Susan Davis and Al Kagan already doing a revised flyer. They will exchange drafts via website www.anti-war.net. 3. Lawyer is found. A couple others interested in consulting behind the scenes. Lieutenant Gallo from Champaign police is out of town for a few weeks, reported Ricky B. 4. Fourth of July Parade. Plan is to use a flatbed truck. One globe split open and another coming out depicting that another world is possible. 2 sided signs: what is and what could be. Drummers. June being coordinated by Peter Rohloff. Durl Kruse will coordinate July. Time slot from 10 - 12 noon tablers needed. Al Kagan and Randall Cotton have meeting with Kim Kranich and Jack Brighton on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. FAIR report about NPR. To join contact akagan@uiuc.edu 8. RE Democracy Now Live on UPTV. The station has to return an agreement. Randall will be watching to see if pressure need be brought to bear. 9. New Ideas. (Susan Parenti) Voter Registration combined with Bush Out. Should be a standard part of tabling. Separate campaign for networking with other groups will be explored by Ricky and Emanuel. Emanuel passed around a list of proposals. 10. No report on Boondocks because Jan Kruse is out. Upcoming Week's Events--Forum of Green Party nominee for President David Cobb, Senate nominee Steve Summers will be on Wed., 6/2, at 8 p.m. at Illini Union Ballroom. At present signature campaign for 25,000 to get Greens on Illinois ballot far behind necessary 25,000 signatures. Ken Urban will, however, be on for Greens running for Champaign County Board. Next Sun., 6/6, 3 p.m. Meredith Kruse on Guatemala work.
